The Department of Force Recruitment

The Department of Force Recruitment serves as the primary recruitment body of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Its core responsibility is to identify and enlist qualified individuals who meet the standards and requirements of the organisation, thereby contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the JCF’s personnel strength. 

To ensure equitable access to recruitment opportunities across the island, four Area Recruiting Offices were established in 1976, particularly targeting rural communities. These offices continue to provide fair and consistent recruitment services to applicants islandwide.

Current Locations of Recruiting Offices:

  1. Harman Barracks, 1 Deanery Road, Kingston
  2. Area 2: 11 Brooks Avenue, St. Mary
  3. Area 3: May Pen, Clarendon
  4. Areas 4 & 5: Tower Isle, Pompano Bay, St. Mary

Each office conducts entrance examinations and panel interviews twice weekly, providing consistent access to the recruitment process.

In an effort to attract a wider pool of applicants and raise awareness of its services, the Department frequently undertakes targeted outreach programs through various special initiatives, including:

  2. High School Engagement Campaigns
  3. Participation in School and Community Expositions
