Police Emergency Communication Centre (PECC)

Police Emergency Communication Centre, formerly known as Police Control Centre, was established in 1957 in Kingston to provide emergency response within the corporate area. It expanded in 1993 with the formation of PECC Areas 1, 2 and 3 in St James, St Mary and Manchester, respectively and extended its reach to a broader geographical area.

PECC serves as the central communication hub for security matters in the nation, handling not only the emergency number 119 but also various other forms of emergencies.

Its core functions include:

Prompt response to 119 calls and the effective and appropriate deployment of resources to handle emergencies. This is crucial for ensuring public safety and security.

Through Jamaica Eye, PECC provides real-time surveillance to prevent crime and social disorder and also provides video footage to support investigations.

PECC plays a crucial role in providing timely updates to the Police High Command and other operatives regarding major incidents.
