Road Safety Education Unit

The Jamaica Constabulary Force Road Safety Education Unit (RSEU) promotes road safety through citizen engagement and education.

An arm of the Constabulary’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, its focus on reducing road collisions and thereby saving lives sees it operating at three levels:

Lower Level (School Programme):

Visits with primary, junior high, and high schools.

Upper Level:

Engages with colleges and universities to promote road safety.

Advanced Level:

Collaborates with internal and external partners such as the Community Safety and Security Branch, National Road Safety Council, Jamaica Automobile Association, Grennel Driving School, and Jamaica National Foundation.

Their work includes:

1. Teaching road safety practices to students and community members

  1. Monitoring and supporting school crossing wardens through the provision of training and resources.

Through its intervention programmes the RSEU has been successful in reducing road accidents involving school children and making roads safer for all pedestrians and commuters.
